About IDAS in Shelters

This site is dedicated to promoting, adapting and developing Individual Development Accounts as a tool to help move people in homeless shelters into housing.

  1. IDAs are typically used by those that get earned income (working, or income related to wring (like tax credits). Public Assistance (Welfare) usually has too little income so they have a hard time committing to savings. Social Security recipients are a group that have used IDAs.
